2025 Orbea Rise LT M10 Review

Orbea Rise 2025 LT M10 Review – More Power, More Range, More Capability!

The Orbea Rise has always been at the forefront of the lightweight eMTB category, and for 2025, Orbea has taken things up a notch. With a full redesign, the Rise now boasts more power, more range, and more travel. But does it live up to the hype? We took the new Rise LT M10 to the trails to see what it’s really capable of.

A Major Overhaul

Since its introduction in 2020, the Orbea Rise has been a game-changer, offering a lightweight eMTB with a fine balance of power and agility. The 2025 model sees a full revamp with a more powerful Shimano EP801 RS motor, increased battery capacity, and a longer-travel option for tackling rougher terrain.

The Rise remains true to Orbea’s modular approach, with both short-travel (SL) and long-travel (LT) variants. The LT version, which we tested, delivers 160 mm of travel up front and 150 mm at the rear—10 mm more than its predecessor. The MyO configurator also allows for extensive customisation, letting riders fine-tune the bike to their exact preferences.

Shimano EP801 RS – More Power, Smart Efficiency

The most significant change comes in the form of the Shimano EP801 RS motor. Previously limited to 60 Nm of torque, Orbea has unlocked the motor’s full 85 Nm potential, making it a true powerhouse. It’s still fine-tuned with Orbea’s RS software, delivering smooth, natural power with a focus on efficiency. The motor is paired with either a 420 Wh or 630 Wh battery, and an optional 210 Wh range extender bumps total capacity to 840 Wh.

Upgraded Modern Frame and Geometry Design

Orbea has given the Rise a completely new frame, incorporating a stiffer carbon construction and refined kinematics. The LT version now features a flip chip in the shock linkage, allowing riders to switch between high and low settings for optimised climbing or descending. The geometry is aggressive yet balanced, with a slack 64° head angle and steep 77° seat angle, making it both playful and capable.

A shorter seat tube and updated dropper post integration mean better freedom of movement on the bike. The clever seat tube design even allows for dropper posts up to 230 mm in larger sizes.

Ride Impressions – Climbing & Descending

On the climbs, the Rise LT M10 is remarkably efficient. The steep seat angle and balanced geometry keep weight centred, ensuring plenty of traction on technical ascents. The new EP801 RS motor delivers just the right amount of power without feeling overwhelming, making it easy to modulate on tricky terrain.

Pointing it downhill, the extra travel makes a noticeable difference. The FOX 36 Factory GRIP X fork and Float X Factory shock soak up big hits with ease, providing excellent control on fast, rough descents. The bike feels planted yet agile, encouraging aggressive riding without punishing mistakes. Short 440 mm chainstays keep it playful, while the 1,259 mm wheelbase (size L) offers stability at speed.

The Verdict

The 2025 Orbea Rise LT M10 is a significant evolution of an already impressive platform. With more power, more range, and more travel, it bridges the gap between lightweight and full-power eMTBs. It’s still one of the best eMTBs for riders who want a natural ride feel with the added benefit of pedal assist.

If you’re after a capable, well-rounded eMTB that can handle technical climbs and aggressive descents while still feeling light and responsive, the new Orbea Rise LT M10 is hard to beat.

  • More powerful EP801 RS motor
